Meet Our Chapter

Safe Families in Madison County
Welcome to Safe Families of Madison County, Indiana! We are a local chapter of the Safe Families in Children movement. We are hundreds of Christian families who’ve opened their homes to care for children whose parents are struggling. By demonstrating Biblical hospitality, Safe Families returns the church to the forefront of caring for orphans and widows.
Our chapter began in March of 2013, while Safe Families has been operating in the greater Indianapolis area since 2008. Since then, Safe Families has become an extended family to many parents in crisis. Many families face unemployment, health issues, drug addictions, homelessness, etc. and need additional support. Safe Families temporarily places children with screened host families, allowing parents the time to acquire the tools necessary to thrive as a family. Safe Families works closely with local churches and referring organizations to maintain a community effort in caring for children. Since the inception of Safe Families – Madison County, God has brought 43 host families forward and we have facilitated over 362 child hostings in the past three years. Our goals are to empower the church, unify families, and to provide a safe alternative to child welfare custody.
